Abhidnya Charya, Roll#7

SRI LANKA POST CARD

To,
The Cinnamon Garden Group,

Thank you for not letting me enjoy the waves on the last day.

                                                                                                              Love,
                                                                                                              Abhidnya Charya.

The experience of travelling alone to Sri Lanka and the moment when finally i met the class in Kandy City.

HOUSE NO 11,  BAWA HOUSE

After visiting all the Bawa projects, I chose to incorporate some of the characteristic Bawa elements like the Pergola and the Shallow water pool around which i placed a flight of stairs which took you to through the exhibition space and led you the the terrace of the Bawa House.

INDIAN EMBASSY COMPLEX

The Cinnamon Gardens is a site with some very important Government Buildings around the Independence Memorial. Considering that the Independence Memorial has open green lawns on all four sides, I thought that merging the existing landscape into the Indian Embassy Complex would break away the idea of an Embassy being a very reserved, secured structure and would in turn become like a playful contoured site on which the functions could happen over as well as under the ground level.
